Fallout New Vegas Ranger Station Charlie Location And Quest Details

Ranger Station Charlie is one of the many New California Republic outposts scattered across the Mojave Wasteland in Fallout: New Vegas. Located directly along the main highway system, this small base serves as a crucial strategic observation post for military operations in the region. Players often visit this spot during specific quests that highlight the growing tension between NCR forces and Caesar's Legion.
Locating Ranger Station Charlie in the Mojave
Finding Ranger Station Charlie requires travelling south along the primary highway route leading out of Novac. The outpost is positioned right along the railroad tracks, wedged between nearby rocky hills and surrounding desert wastes. It is easily recognizable by the cluster of pre-War trailers, barricades, and NCR flags marking the perimeter.
Associated Quests and Storyline Events
The location plays a central role in the unmarked quest titled Andy and Charlie. Former NCR Ranger Andy, residing in Novac, asks the Courier to check in on his fellow soldiers at the station after communication goes silent. Upon arrival, players discover that Caesar's Legion has raided the compound, leaving behind traps and holotapes detailing the attack.
Hazards and Notable Loot Inside the Station
Exploring the main building requires caution due to several booby traps left by the Legion attackers. Players should watch for tripwires, rigged shotguns, and explosive mines scattered near the doorway and sleeping quarters. Inside, you can collect two unique audio logs, ranger armor, and useful ammunition supplies.
Quest Completion Rewards and Skill Checks
After investigating the crime scene, returning to Novac allows players to report the tragic outcome to Ranger Andy. Completing this objective grants NCR reputation, caps, and the opportunity to learn the valuable unarmed Ranger Takedown technique. Passing optional Speech skill checks during dialogue can yield additional cap rewards or alternate dialogue paths.
